The Nordschleife season runs roughly April to October. Outside it the circuit still opens, but cold tyres, standing water and low grip change what a lap means — a winter time is not comparable to a summer one.
Touristenfahrten is not a track day
Touristenfahrten is public road time on a one-way toll road. Different rules, different insurance, overtaking on the left is forbidden, and you share the circuit with everything from motorcycles to vans. A track day is a closed session with an organizer, a briefing and marshals. The two get confused constantly and they are not the same product.
Booking
Popular Nordschleife dates sell out months ahead, and the good organizers fill first. Spa runs a shorter season and costs more per day. Book early, and read what the day actually includes — open pit lane and sessioned running give very different amounts of track time for the same money.
